Undersea features map

950 named features of the ocean floor, from the Mariana Trench to small seamounts, each with its depth in the GEBCO_2026 grid. 300 of them, the best known by the number of Wikipedia languages that cover them, have a full page. Names and positions are from Wikidata. A trench or ridge has a single listed point there, so for those the depth is the deepest cell found near it (trenches) or the depth at that point (ridges), and each page says which. Seamounts show the depth of their summit.

Trenches (39)

Oceanic trenches are long, narrow valleys where one tectonic plate slides beneath another. They hold the deepest water on Earth, and most lie around the edge of the Pacific Ocean.

Deeps (24)

A deep is the deepest part of a trench or basin: a small area, often only a few kilometres across, that gets its own name.

Ridges (112)

Undersea ridges are chains of mountains. The mid-ocean ridges are where new seafloor is made, as plates pull apart and hot rock rises to fill the gap.

Seamounts and guyots (420)

A seamount is an underwater mountain, usually an extinct volcano. A guyot is a seamount with a flat top, worn flat by waves when it once stood at the surface.
